2019 marks 25 years since 100% Design first brought its discerning offering to the UK design industry, and will feature a stellar line-up of exhibitors and features in celebration.
New for 2019 is A Sense of Finland, which will present the best of Finnish furniture, products and lighting within a specially-built eco log house. Focused around sustainability, well-being and healthy living environments, the exhibit will be curated by Finnish/English designer, Hanna Laikola, in collaboration with renowned Nordic brand, Tapio Anttila Collection, and eco log house company, Polar Life Haus.
Another addition for 2019 is brand new exhibition space, Detail London. Set against the backdrop of one of Olympia’s Victorian reception rooms, Detail London will feature the latest high-end contemporary soft furnishings and wallcoverings. Expect the likes of Amsterdam-based Studio Desimone Wayland Glamora and Barbara Osorio Fabrics.
100% Design’s staple features will all return for another year, including Design London – featuring brands such as Arper, Benchmark, Dare Studio, Boss Design and Antonio Lupi; and Design Fresh, with its celebration of rising designers and exciting new perspectives.
The rise of instagrammable interiors will be explored via ‘inspiration kiosks’. 100% Design has collaborated with seven designers – including Lee Broom and Suzy Hoodless – who will select images from their personal Instagram that reflect their inspiration.
Other topical issues – from climate change and wastage, to the circular economy and sustainability – will be expored through Talks with 100% Design. Over 50 conversations and debates with designers, architects and specialists will run across the main stage and Forum areas.
Back by popular demand, 100% Design will be part of the West Kensington Design District – a must-visit district during the London Design Festival for its engaging programme. The district will be brought to life by an array of partners, including the Design Museum and award-winning textile studio, Kirkby Design, which will bring an original 1967 Victoria Line tube carriage to 100% Design as an exciting and immersive venue.
