The Coniston Hotel, currently Yorkshire’s ‘Large Hotel of the Year’ in Welcome to Yorkshire’s White Rose Awards, has launched its spa membership packages this week.
The 16,500 square foot spa development is being built this summer adjacent to the Hotel and will offer members and hotel guests striking views over the estate’s 24-acre lake and the wider Yorkshire Dales countryside when it opens in the Autumn.
Mark Green of Yorkshire-based Curveline Design and leading spa consultant Nicki Kurran, who has previously worked with Champneys and The Dorchester, are working with the project team to deliver the spa, which is due to open late Autumn 2015. East Lancashire-based Barnfield Construction is the main contractor on the build, and Yorkshire Bank is backing the project.
“It’s going to be an exciting year for all involved in the development of the spa and the hotel, and we’re expecting that before the end of the year we will have created a fantastic new facility for our hotel guests and local residents, and one which will not only create many new jobs but will bring more visitors to this part of the Dales for years to come,” says Michael Bannister, chairman of The Coniston Hotel.
The Coniston Spa is expected to create at least 35 new jobs for the local market, and its facilities will include a 15m indoor swimming pool, thermal suite, gym, dance studio, spa treatments, relaxation and dining area, and an outdoor spa pool and terrace.
