Curtis Furniture are proud to announce their completion of a luxury bespoke furniture installation for the The Other House Hotel in South Kensington. Working in collaboration with Bergman Interiors, Curtis were able to successfully deliver a unique selection of bespoke bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen furnishings to one of West London’s most exquisite 5 star hotels.

Situated in the cultural and historic neighbourhood of South Kensington, the former Harrington Hall reopened as The Other House in July 2022 and specialises in medium to long stays. The hotel boasts their Private Club, an exclusive space with state-of-the art wellness facilities and beautifully interior designed destination bars, none of which are publicly available. Each bedroom offers both an ample amount of living space and a splendid array of high-quality furnishings, perfect for someone looking to take a long stay in London’s royal borough.

Curtis Furniture successfully delivered this project through a careful yet considered process of sampling, to ensure that the furniture created was suitable for the bedrooms, kitchens and bathrooms. This included tailored pieces such as the unique dividing screen to separate bedrooms from living areas.

The rooms at The Other House offer the guest not only fabulous location and luxury, they also provide the facilities to ensure that every comfort for a longer stay is on hand. A beautifully appointed kitchen was manufactured by Curtis for each room. Complete with solid surface work tops and integrated appliances the guest has every option for either a night on the town, or simply that quiet night in.

Curtis are a Leeds based manufacturer are a market leader in large scale hotel furniture installation for some of the UK’s most notable hotels and have been operating for over 25 years. From their 60,000 sq ft factory, their team of over 90 staff have been consistently able to deliver large scale projects such as this one in a timely and professional manner. The Yorkshire based manufacturing facility has been at the heart of Curtis growth over the years. It has given Curtis the size to handle the fast programmes of large scale hotel projects and also, being under four hour’s drive from 90% of the UK’s major cities, it enables Curtis to be flexible and responsive to the constant evolving requirements of a large hotel build or refurbishment project.

To ensure cost-effectiveness and maximum value, the manufacturer use a technique known as value engineering, a process which reviews of the materials and components of each product during the design phase to reduce costs and improve lead times.

This has given this manufacturer a significant competitive edge when delivering scale projects, enabling them to guarantee that all aspects of production have been safely handled in the UK .

The owners of The Other House were also able to take advantage of Curtis recent acquisition of the Lugo Furniture brand. Lugo have specialised in seating and loose furniture for the hospitality industry for over 20 years. The Lugo team sampled and supplied unique furniture for the hotel. The Other House loose furniture package ranged from wonderful “bean” shaped sofas through to space saving drop-leaf tables and bed bases all finished to suite in with the casegood furniture provided by Curtis.

Curtis & Lugo are proud to have been an integral part of the development of this beautiful hotel.
