Aerolight: the best vanity downlight solution for hotel bathrooms

ID and lighting consultants often get a headache when talking about hotel bathroom lighting design.

It is widely recognized that mirror users naturally lean close to a mirror when they are carrying out detailed make up like drawing eye liner, brushing mascara, drawing lip lines, etc. Gentlemen do the same when they check on their shaving. However, a normal downlight is always not able to perform this functional light. When the guest leans to the mirror, all lights from ceiling are blocked by the head, resulting in too much dim light on the person’s face. Guests will feel us pet if they do not have enough light when trying to carry out these detail-focused tasks, and self-confidence levels may even decline.

A traditional solution is to install wall sconces on both side of the mirror. However, this causes other issues. If protruding decorative wall lights are installed, it will take much more time to clean. Mirror flushed light boxes are neat and clean, but it is difficult to maintain when the light is longer in use.

Adding to this, the trend in luxury hotel suites is to have a double basin and a double wide mirror. This often makes the two wall lights became too far away to perform its function.

Some hotels have installed foldable wall-mounted magnifying mirrors to please the guests, but they are hard to keep in good condition. After being used for a few months, they often become loose or not able to hold their required position.

“We have heard so many complaints about the bathroom vanity lights from lighting designers and hotel operators. =Two years ago, we decided to develop an innovative vanity downlight.” says Mr. Sky, the founder of Aero Light, a well-known hospitality architectural lighting brand in Asia. “Our goal was to make a ceiling recessed vanity downlight that would provide enough light for the user without additional wall sconces. It seemed like an impossible task. That’s why we were so excited, after dozens of failed attempts, to have finally made it.

“With the ingenious Aero Vanity Downlight installed in front of the mirror, the closer to the mirror, the brighter the face. Ladies can easily draw the most delicate eyeliner, and men will not leave an unshaved beard. All hoteliers and lighting designers who visited Aero Experience Center in Singapore were excited when they saw the magic of the new Aero Vanity Downlight. It’s the perfect vanity downlight. They all want it for their next hotel project.”
