BHDM Design, an award-winning, bi-coastal interior design firm, has announced the promotion of Stephanie Metzger, Sheila Cahill, and John Doyle to new directorial positions. Metzger has been appointed as Senior Director of Concept and Experience, Cahill will hold the role of Senior Director of Design and Development, and Doyle will serve as Director of Design and Development. Their impressive work and leadership at BHDM and extensive experience in the design industry have equipped them for these new positions as the firm continues to grow.

“Stephanie, Sheila, and John are integral members of the BHDM team, from a professional and design standpoint, as well as embodying our firm’s culture and ethos,” said Dan Mazzarini, principal and creative director of BHDM Design. “They bring essential insights into all of our projects and these promotions will allow them to continue to grow and establish themselves within the company and in the design world at large.”

Stephanie Metzger began as a design intern at BHDM Design in 2013; she quickly rose to interior designer, and Director at BHDM, as well as co-founding  ARCHIVE, BHDM’s direct-to-consumer homeware-focused brand. In her new role as Senior Director of Concept and Experience, she will oversee the guest experience journey and interactive concepts across project types, including hospitality, technology sectors, start-ups, and new brand development. Stephanie’s skill and expertise are evidenced in projects from award-winning Hawaiian hotels to ground-breaking Google Campuses across the country.

Sheila Cahill joined BHDM in 2015 as a designer and now rises to Senior Director of Design and Development, where she will oversee hospitality projects, guiding BHDM’s partners and clients to deliver exceptional guest experiences through creative, interactive concepts. In 2023 she was named one of Hospitality Design’s Boutique 18, recognizing her vision and leadership on projects such as the Waldorf Astoria Atlanta, Hyatt Regency San Francisco, and Hotel Avante in Mountain View, CA.

John Doyle joined the BHDM team in 2020 after working as an interior designer at Perkins + Will and WeWork. In his time at the firm, John has focused on projects in the hospitality and commercial sectors and will continue to build on his expertise in his new role as Director of Design and Development. He will lead initiatives with key partners, such as Google, and other forthcoming opportunities in the hospitality and fashion retail space.
