Omni Hotels & Resorts has announced the promotion of Laura Trussel McKoy to Chief Creative Officer. In this role, McKoy will continue to lead the interior design for both renovations and new developments while overseeing the brand’s overall creative vision. She will also collaborate closely with Marketing and Operations to ensure every visual, experiential, and storytelling element strengthens Omni’s position as a leading hospitality brand, and every guest experience reflects the innovation and thoughtful design for which Omni is known.
McKoy joined Omni in February 2007 as Director of Interior Design, leading the brand’s interior design efforts for new developments, renovations, and capital improvement projects. She later advanced to Creative Director and Vice President of Interior Design. During her tenure, she founded the Omni Hotels & Resorts Design Studio, an in-house team that has become a recognized force in the hospitality industry. Under her leadership, the studio has delivered distinctive, innovative, and guest-centered design experiences across the brand’s portfolio, and its success is a direct reflection of McKoy’s vision and leadership.
“Laura has been instrumental in shaping Omni’s design identity and in bringing our brand to life at each hotel for nearly 20 years,” said Kurt Alexander, President of Omni Hotels & Resorts. “She has helped pioneer Omni’s destination-driven storytelling, while also elevating the Omni brand at every turn. Her appointment to Chief Creative Officer recognizes her continued impact in shaping the future of Omni’s creative vision and brand position.”
Prior to joining Omni, McKoy held design leadership positions with CNL Hotels and Resorts in Orlando, Florida, and BBGM Architects and Interiors in Washington, D.C. A native of Paducah, Kentucky, she earned her Bachelor of Science degree in interior design from The University of Alabama, where she serves on the Leadership Board for the College of Human Environmental Sciences.
