Blacksheep has announced the launch of House of Black, an independent creative studio based in London and dedicated to elevating Luxury & Lifestyle hospitality through a unique blend of Branding, F&B Strategy, and Interior Design. Unveiled in December 2025, the new studio represents the next evolution of Blacksheep’s luxury and lifestyle portfolio, following a strategic leadership restructure in 2023.
Led by CEO Toni Black, House of Black operates independently under the Blacksheep Holdings Group, with its own creative direction, client base, and team. Founder Tim Mutton remains on the group board to support long-term creative alignment while the studio forges its own path.
A Global Creative Vision
House of Black brings together multiple disciplines that can be delivered independently or woven into a single, holistic offering. Each project is shaped to ensure story, guest experience and spatial design align seamlessly.
Working internationally across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and the United States, the studio partners with hotel groups, independent operators and visionary founders to create hospitality concepts that move beyond the expected—experiences that connect emotionally, tell stories and leave a lasting impression.
Recent and upcoming work includes:
-
A luxury lodge development in East Africa, in partnership with a global hospitality brand
-
Signature restaurant and bar concepts for both international operators and independent founders
-
Full hotel interior design concepts for selected properties
-
Branding and F&B Strategy for global names including Treehouse, Autograph Collection, St. Regis, Waldorf Astoria, and Four Seasons
-
Goodifferent, a salon and cultural retail brand by Funmi Fetto, opening at Liberty London in Q1 2026
This expanding global portfolio reflects the studio’s ethos to design experiences that bridge identity, purpose, and place.
Design Philosophy: ‘Felt, Not Just Seen’
At the heart of House of Black is a belief that design must be emotional, atmospheric and rooted in story. Every project begins with narrative and intent, creating a deep connection between people and place through ritual, craft and layered storytelling.
This philosophy was shared publicly for the first time through The Gathering Bar at WOW!house 2025. The space drew widespread attention from global design publications such as AD Pro, World of Interiors, House & Garden, and Sleeper, and was listed among the Top 10 rooms of the showcase. The installation offered an early glimpse into the studio’s commitment to emotion, craftsmanship and connection.
A Studio Built on Collaboration
Toni Black, CEO, House of Black said: “House of Black is a collective, a bringing together of different voices, cultures, and perspectives brought together to shape hospitality experiences with real depth and meaning. The idea of a House is intentional. It represents legacy, belonging, and contribution. I’ve brought together a team of extraordinary thinkers and creators, each with a different lens, but united by a shared belief that great design is born from collaboration and emotional connection.”
