Following the granting of planning permission to convert an adjoining building, The Beaumont will remain closed until late spring 2021, to commence work on long-planned improvements.
2 Providence Court, an art deco, warehouse-style building adjoining The Beaumont at the back, will be converted to accommodate 25 new bedrooms and some meeting space. Disruptive and noisy demolition works and basement digging will take place in the first months of 2021 whilst the hotel is closed, thus avoiding disturbance to hotel guests.
At the same time, two rooms on the first floor of the existing building will be transformed into a large, light-filled one-bedroom suite, and a soft refurbishment of the Cub Room, the Magritte Bar and The Colony Grill Room will be undertaken, as well as the enlargement of the gymnasium in the hotel spa.
The staff will be retained throughout this temporary closure.
