Cordis, Hangzhou opens in Sci-Tech City

Cordis, Hangzhou, Sci-Tech City opens and joins its sister Cordis hotels in Shanghai, Beijing, Dongqian Lake, Hong Kong and Auckland.

Located in the heart of the high technological and integrated complex, Hangzhou Future Sci -Tech City, Cordis, Hangzhou is a contemporary, approachable luxury hotel which features 186 rooms and suites ranging from 36 to 190 sqm in size, three restaurants and bar, a 24 hour well-equipped gym and a diverse range of flexible meeting and event spaces suitable for all events.

Strategically located, the hotel is 400 meters away from Liangmulu subway station (Subway Line 5) and also have easy access to Alibaba’s headquarter, Xixi Tech Zone, Xixi Wetland National Park, Liangzhu Ancient City and West Lake.

“Hangzhou, the capital city of Zhejiang is not only renowned for its beautiful scenery, rich history and cultural significance, making it a prime tourist destination, it also plays a key role in economic growth and development in science and education in China ,” said Stefan Leser, chief executive officer, Langham Hospitality Group.

The new Sci-Tech City is the future of Hangzhou and we have consciously seek an energetic and innovative international hotel brand to welcome travellers to this creative and hi-tech city of the future,” said Wang Minggang, general manager, Huaxia Sunshine Real Estate East China Branch, Hangzhou Baoli Kanghua Real Estate Company Limited.

Cordis, Hangzhou, Sci-Tech City was designed by international design firm HBA architecture. With the business and leisure traveller in mind, the design of the hotel is inspired by the West Lake where the hotel’s design is inspired by the beauty of natural landscapes and complemented by elegant, contemporary interiors.

Artworks are also prominently showcased at the hotel. Guests will be welcomed by the artwork “Hangzhou Dream” in the lobby. Through an artistic lighting device, the artwork depicts a fan opened by a scholar who sings lyrically and recites poetry, praising the scenery of Hangzhou’s ten scenic spots. Other artworks that are featured in the hotel include Chinese ink painting, blue and white porcelain or works reflecting boating on West Lake and other elements in Hangzhou, are presented throughout the hotel.

186 stylish and contemporary rooms

The 190 sqm Presidential suite is luxuriously appointed with a spacious living room, an exclusive dining area, a private kitchen and an expansive bedroom. The Presidential Suite is also equipped with an intelligent digital audio system where guests can seamlessly stream videos and movies from their smart phones to the television screen in the suite and amenities like the Nespresso machine and Dyson hair dryers.

There are also other multiple room categories to choose from – Superior Room, Deluxe Room, One-Bedroom Suite, Premier Suite. All rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows showcasing the spectacular view of the city. Guests can look forward to a blissful night’s rest with Cordis’s signature Dream Bed.

Inspiring dining experience

Cordis, Hangzhou, Sci-Tech City offers exceptional dining experiences in its two signature restaurants and bar.

The hotel’s signature Chinese restaurant, Ming Court features authentic Cantonese and local cuisine prepared by the group’s award-winning Chinese culinary team. With its sophisticated interiors and seven private dining rooms, the restaurant is the perfect gathering place for friends and families.

Cordis Market is an all-day dining restaurant which offers a customized, cook-to-order interactive buffet experience. The menu includes daily selected dishes that feature healthy and seasonal fresh ingredients. A range of specially selected fine wines from France and Australia are also available to accompany the menu.

The Bar offers a diverse range of curated fine wines, vintage whiskeys and innovative cocktails. The hotel’s executive chef has also created bar snacks and finger food to complement the drinks menu.

Health and Wellness

The hotel offers a variety of recreational options, including a heated 25 metres by 8 metres indoor swimming pool, as well as a 24-hour gym outfitted with the latest equipment.

The group’s signature wellness brand, Chuan Spa will provide a pampering and relaxing haven for guests. There are three luxurious private treatment rooms and one foot massage room offering beauty and wellness treatments inspired by Traditional Chinese Medicine which Chuan Spa is renowned for.

Flexible meetings and events

The hotel has six meeting venues, a 600-sqm pillar-less ballroom and a business centre, which are ideal for intimate weddings, meetings and special events. All event spaces offer advanced audio visual and technical equipment to suit every occasion. The 600 sqm pillarless grand ballroom is at 6 metres in height and can accommodate up to 300 guests. The ballroom is also equipped with a 3.6m by 6.6m LED screen. It can also be flexibly divided into three individual meeting rooms. The other four meeting rooms feature plenty of natural lighting and an unblocked city view.
