The trend for rustic romanticism is stamping its mark on the decorative landscape – as ever, oak designs take centre stage, while highly-structured surfaces evocative of split wood and matt surfaces give a natural feel. With 29 new stock range additions and a variety of innovative make-to-order designs, Renolit has based its three- and two-dimensional products on these trends.
Weathered tones
Among the new products that Renolit exhibited at Interzum, the natural-looking Magellan oak decor and three-dimensional Veralinga emboss was a particular highlight. Veralinga is a deep, dynamic wood structure with a smooth, matt finish, and – thanks to its rustic aesthetic – makes an ideal partner to the Magellan oak decor.
Magellan Vintage P has a warm grey shade with light touches of beige to make it look as though it has been bleached by the sun. A discreet shimmer of silver lends a hint of exclusivity. In combination with the three-dimensional structure of Veralinga, the finished effect takes on the character of freshly split wood.
The make-to-order decor Inedito Oak in combination with Melinga emboss offers a sculptural and even more rustic aesthetic. Rich knotting and gnarling give life to the streaks of oak. The rough-sawn planks produce a shingle effect thanks to their different lengths. The uneven joints and overlaps cast shadows and give added depth to the decor with a dramatic effect.
The streaked wood structuring of Canyon Monument Oak is both lively and rustic. Slight finishing marks suggest planing, and with different light areas give the effect of bleaching. With narrow cracks and a few knots, Canyon Monument Oak conveys an aged and rough aesthetic, while its S-Coat surface gives a comparatively matt feel.
Elegant oak
By contrast, Thermo A oak is considerably more discreet. A blacken oak with finely-grained areas, its richly dark colour with red undertones provides a charismatic and sophisticated design. The elegant surface structure gives a discreet touch. Additionally, Thermo B offers a slightly browner effect tinged with a lighter golden hue.
Also following the line of elegance is the Brabant oak decor – which is available in two colourways, each combined with different matching surface structures to give a distinctive appearance. A warm mid-toned adaptation is styled with a velvety sanded surface, while the fresh design of the sun-bleached lighter-coloured version lends itself to the deeply structured Linea emboss.
Combinations
The new Elmo decor is a linear interpretation of the highly characterful elm, which also gives the Veralinga emboss a strong feel. With its slender stripes, Elmo produces some fine lines. Elmo is available in two elegant nuances of grey.
A unique combination of ash and oak is created by the Okasha emboss. Widely-spaced sections of distinctive ash alternate with an authentic oak woodgrain in the interlaying flat areas. Its striking nature gives the impression of natural, open-grained wood, completed by a slight texture to its surface finish.
Among the representatives of antiquity is the new decor, Roca, which has the appearance of rusty metal. In two versions which unite an intensive array of colours, Roca is making its entrance increasingly in kitchens. The reddish-brown Roca Rust, with brown tones intermingled with burgundy red as an accent harmonises particularly well with white and light beige. The lighter variation Roca Cream works best with neutral tones such as off-whites, beige or a light grey.
