Down Hall Country House Hotel in Hatfield Heath, Hertfordshire, has announced the appointment of Neill Walker as its new general manager. Neill joins the team after a successful tenure as GM at Stoke Rochford Hall in Lincolnshire, and brings with him a wealth of experience and ideas ahead of Down Hall’s refurbishment of 54 of its bedrooms and its leisure facilities.
As an experienced member of the Then Hospitality venue management team, Neill spent three years resurrecting the fortunes of Stoke Rochford Hall after a fire in 2006, which destroyed the business. Faced with the challenge of effectively starting from scratch, Neill reopened the venue as a hotel and conference centre, overseeing an increase in its revenues, occupancy and the overall standing of the hotel into the process.
Neill says: “It’s a very exciting time to be joining the team at Down Hall. With an extensive refurbishment programme already under way, I am looking forward to adding even more wow to the Hall than we already have, and making it the number one choice for conferences, meetings, weddings and leisure hotel breaks.”
