ME London launches events in celebration of The BRITs 2014

As the official hotel partner of The BRIT Awards 2014, ME London will be hosting a photography exhibition from the archives of the BRITs, celebrating past winners, in its luxurious Marconi bar from 3rd February to 10th March. In addition, a large sculpture of the iconic BRIT award will be unveiled in the hotel’s Atrium, an impressive pyramidal space. This year’s BRIT trophy – designed by hat maker, Philip Treacy OBE – is receiving critical acclaim for its reference to the punk music era.

Throughout the partnership ME London will host a number of artists, as well as quarterly gigs in the ME Room, pledging to raise money through various donations and initiatives, including charity donations from every paying stay. ME London’s donations will go to music charity, The BRIT Trust. The main beneficiaries of BRIT Trust funding include the BRIT School – the only free Performing Arts School in the UK – and Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy.

Fabio Gallo, GM at ME London, says: “This charitable partnership is the perfect fit with the hotel – the flagship property of a brand built around the concepts of music, urban culture and fashion – and we look forward to building a long-term relationship with The BRIT Awards. It will be the first of many to come.”

John Craig OBE, chairman of The BRIT Trust, adds: “The Trust is delighted to be the chosen charity for ME London. We are excited by the prospect of working together to promote BRITs, Classic BRITs, BRITs Icon, plus the emerging talent graduating from The BRIT School.”
