Founded in 1979 and initially operating out of a small shop in Wimbledon Village, into started as a lighting design consultancy specialising in residential projects. The main focus was the uphill task of convincing the British public of the importance of lighting and introducing well designed European fittings from brands like Erco, Flos, Artemide, Foscarini, iGuzzini, Autographe and Roland Jamois to projects.
During the 1980s and 1990s into became one of the leading, innovative lighting design consultancies in the UK. The company began to be approached by many major high street retail brands. French Connection, Habitat, Whistles, Jigsaw, Nat West and Oasis all consulted into to develop their lighting strategies.
This led to larger scale retail projects and rollouts for clients including Levi’s on their European rollout program, and other collaborations with House of Fraser, Porsche, Stella McCartney and Paperchase.
In the early 1990s into was commissioned to work on restaurant projects for renowned chef Raymond Blanc, which led to further hospitality work in Europe with the Sheraton, Hilton and Marriott hotel groups along with many Michelin restaurants. We have also developed lighting for some of the UKs major nightclubs including Chinawhite, Cuckoo Club, Boujis and Hed Kandi.
Today into is one of the UK’s leading lighting design consultancies working on projects worldwide from offices in London, Hampshire and New Delhi.
Recent projects include all three panoramic restaurants in Renzo Piano’s Shard, Michelin Starred Il Milione in Hong Kong, Perth Airport duty free, and Asics Flagship stores across Europe.
