DoubleTree by Hilton has celebrated the opening of the latest addition to its growing London portfolio – the brand’s 10th hotel in the capital area.

DoubleTree by Hilton London – Islington is located in the heart of fashionable Islington, offering an ideal base for exploring London’s many attractions. The stylish property, which marks the brand’s 10,000th room in Europe, joins Hilton Worldwide’s fastest growing full service brand after a multi-million pound refurbishment, and, alongside the recently opened DoubleTree by Hilton London – Chelsea, operates under a franchise agreement with Jurys Inn.

“Since 2007, the brand has grown from no presence in the UK to nearly 25 properties, with 10 of these in the London area,” says John Greenleaf, global head, DoubleTree by Hilton. “The DoubleTree brand resonates with the UK traveler by offering a friendly, approachable service experience, which starts with the presentation of our signature, freshly-baked chocolate chip cookie at check-in.”

Thomas Doyle, general manager, DoubleTree by Hilton London – Islington, said: “The hotel has undergone a transformation, prior to converting under the DoubleTree by Hilton brand, including the addition of an executive lounge and fitness suite, not to mention a new London gin bar ‘Bar60’ which offers signature cocktails to suit a wide range of tastes. I am looking forward to greeting guests with DoubleTree by Hilton’s warm welcome.”

The hotel has undergone a significant renovation and features 372 bedrooms – after adding a further 143 rooms following a substantial extension to the hotel. The refurbished ground floor, created by leading international design studio designsquared, includes a contemporary lobby and lounge area incorporating local design features.

At gin bar Bar60, guests can enjoy a range of drinks before dining at The Grill Restaurant, a full-service eatery which offers a wide menu of contemporary options, grill specialties and all day dining. The hotel also featuresmore than 3,200 square feet of meeting space, a 24-hour complimentary business centre, concierge services through the reception team and complimentary, 24-hour on-site fitness centre and free WiFi throughout the hotel.
