On October 8th 2014, the very best of London from lifestyle industries across the capital came together for the 5th London Lifestyle Awards at Troxy in East London.
The awards were made up of 20 categories ranging from ‘London Restaurant of the year’ to ‘London Hotel of the year’, and voted for in advance by the general public.
Debuting as a full group, and winning the title of ‘London Hospitality Group of the year’, was Inception Group. Other groups that were nominated in this category were; D&D London, The London Cocktail Club Group, Drake & Morgan, Soho Bars Ltd, Mothership Group, San Carlo, Cote Restaurants and the ETM Group.
Previous winners in this category have also included a number of established institutions such as ETM Group (The Botanist, The Cadogan Arms, One Canada Square) last year.
Inception Group is owned by Charlie Gilkes and Duncan Stirling, and includes Chelsea speakeasy Barts, 80’s themed nightclub, Maggie’s, the acclaimed Bunga Bunga, an Englishman’s Italian, Bar, Pizzeria and Karaoke venue, and most recently Disco, an underground boite in Soho based on the disco movement that took place in 1970s Manhattan.
This spring the company launched Cocobananas, a nightclub based on a Brazilian beach party and will be launching Beaver Lodge this winter, a mountain bar and dance saloon based on the winter cowboy log cabins found in Wyoming.
The London Lifestyle Awards 2014 were hosted by Marcus Brigstocke who introduced celebrity presenters and also entertainment from Rockabellas, Lizzie Deane and band, Purdy, Flynn and Lucy Kay. The evening ended with a brilliant set from DJ Rick.
