Redefine|BDL Hotels has been appointed to manage a prestigious portfolio of 22 hotels on behalf of LRG Acquisition Limited, consisting of 19 Holiday Inn hotels and three Crowne Plaza hotels. The move establishes Redefine|BDL Hotels as Europe’s largest manager of InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) franchised properties.

The 22 hotels, which have annual turnover in excess of £200m, will add 2,300 staff and almost 6,000 rooms to the Redefine|BDL Hotels managed portfolio, and cement its position as the UK’s largest independent hotel management company.

Redefine|BDL Hotels will increase its team of central hotel specialists from approximately 95 to more than 135, with the London base moving to new, larger premises and the existing Glasgow office being extended to facilitate the growth.

Helder Pereira, Chief Executive Officer of Redefine|BDL Hotels, said: “This is a landmark addition to the Redefine|BDL Hotels portfolio and we are very pleased with the quality and prestige of the properties we will be managing and the calibre of the workforce we are inheriting. We look forward to working with LRG as a key hotel owner and further strengthening our successful partnership with IHG.”

Managing Director for Redefine|BDL Hotels, Stewart Campbell, added: “These additions will increase the Redefine|BDL Hotels portfolio to 70 hotels, including 23 Holiday Inn hotels and six Crowne Plaza hotels. As well as raising our total in-hotel staff numbers to more than 4,500, we will significantly increase our central office teams and expand our premises, all of which contribute to our plans to grow the business and build on our success to date.”

The LRG properties to be managed by Redefine|BDL Hotels include five central London hotels, notably the 906-bedroom Holiday Inn Kensington Forum, plus Holiday Inn Edinburgh, Holiday Inn Cardiff City, Holiday Inn® Glasgow Airport and Crowne Plaza Birmingham NEC.  The Redefine|BDL Hotels portfolio now includes 13 central London hotels and four hotels at Heathrow Airport.

Redefine|BDL Hotels will assume management of the hotels during January 2015.
