The Ascott calls on Beacon’s services

The Ascott, the world’s largest international serviced residence owner operator, has called on Beacon, the leading hospitality purchasing company, to handle its entire purchasing strategy across seven of its prestigious London properties, with a combined purchasing spend of £20million.

The new partnership will see Beacon streamline The Ascott’s purchasing across all sectors including consumables and food.

Priding itself on its award-winning properties, The Ascott has a meticulous approach when it comes to developing its purchasing strategy. Beacon will be working with The Ascott on several of its prestigious London properties including The Ascott Mayfair and The Cavendish London, which has been a Beacon customer since 2007, and its collection of five Citadines Apart’hotels.

This concept, which sits alongside The Ascott’s luxurious London serviced residences and apartments, offers independent travellers the flexibility to choose services which they require, with all apartments offering the privacy of an ‘own home’ alongside a wide range of flexible hotel services that guests are free to use as they wish.

“Since we first contacted the Beacon team they have taken every step to understand the needs of our business,” says Rebecca Hollants Van Loocke, regional general manager for the UK, Germany and Georgia at The Ascott. “When working with the standard of properties that we do, it is vital to us to find a purchasing company that is able to meet the high expectations of our customers and approach the purchasing strategy carefully, considering every element.

“We believe that is exactly what Beacon does and being able to benefit from Beacon’s varied supplier portfolio is a huge advantage to us. We can’t wait to see our partnership go from strength to strength and we are looking forward to seeing what the future holds.”

Paul Connelly, Director of Operations at Beacon, comments: “We’re really pleased to be partnering with The Ascott as working with such an esteemed group requires incredible attention to detail and this will be an interesting project for the whole Beacon team to work on.

“The Ascott will benefit from a streamlined purchasing strategy, which will ultimately provide cost savings, but also save the time of dealing with suppliers directly. Beacon can also offer peace of mind that all suppliers will be acting to the highest standards, which is paramount when taking into account the calibre of properties owned by The Ascott.”
