Beacon, a leading British purchasing company, is celebrating the success of its largest exhibition, after welcoming hospitality operators to Manchester Central on the 26th January.

The exhibition, which included workshops from several industry leading speakers, gave customers and suppliers the opportunity to discuss industry issues and share best practice.

The workshops on the day began with a guide to navigating the National Living Wage by employment law experts DAC Beachcroft LLP, which was followed by talks on the power of brands in the hospitality market by Dr Crispian Tarrant from BDRC Contintental, Dulux’s 2016 design trends with Marianne Shillingford, Creative Director at the company and finally a spirit trends workshop and a tasting master class from Bacardi.

With over 70 of Beacon’s industry leading suppliers exhibiting on the day, including brands such as Kellogg’s, Dulux and Heineken, delegates were given unrivalled access to data and insight from across the hospitality, leisure and care industries.

Members of the Beacon team, as well as its sister organisation Best Western, were on hand throughout the day to discuss how customers can get the most out of their partnership and to showcase the products and services on offer for customers.

“We are delighted with the success of our largest ever exhibition and we are already seeing positive feedback from suppliers and customers alike,” says Paul Connelly, Managing Director at Beacon.

Events such as this are invaluable for us as it gives us the opportunity to meet with customers face to face and discuss the range of services we can offer to help their business thrive. The National Living Wage workshop was hugely popular, highlighting just how much support small businesses will need when the National Living Wage is implemented this April.”

Beacon is a leading purchasing company, specialising in providing solutions for its customers that add value but reduce cost. Working with over 160 suppliers, Beacon supports almost 2,000 customers across a range of sectors including hospitality, leisure and care home markets. Since establishing the business in 2000 Beacon has developed a reputation for building long-term stakeholder partnerships based on honesty, expertise and trust. Across the business, Beacon manages a spend portfolio of approximately £100million on behalf of its customers.
