Blum UK’s BUK-aneers support Milton Keynes fundraising event

The Dragon Boat race in Milton Keynes is one of the main fundraising events of the calendar, and this year will be raising money for Age UK Milton Keynes.

One of Blum‘s main interests is to help kitchen companies make “future-proof” products, so this seemed a perfect fit for the fundraising event this year.

With a crew of 16, covering every area of the business, it’s also a great way to get the whole company involved in a fun event. Blum are looking to raise £1,000 by the end of June.

Dragon boat racing is an ancient Chinese tradition and the fastest growing water activity in Britain today. Up to 16 people paddle each 40′ boat with a drummer at the front beating time and a helm at the tail steering a straight course.

Apart from uniting the 16 members of the race team, Blum UK hope it will help local participants and visitors understand what Blum can offer locally.

“Blum in Austria is very well know for supporting local causes, and we aim to do the same here in Milton Keynes,” explains Emma Fletcher, who has organised and cajoled the various members of the team.

“We entered the festival primarily for a bit of fun, and to raise money for a very deserving cause, but have steadily become more competitive – we hope the rest of the company will be out, cheering for us on the day – Go the BUK-aneers!”
