Boston welcomes new Four Seasons Hotel

Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street has opened in the heart of Boston’s chic Back Bay neighbourhood.

The soaring glass skyscraper – now the city’s third tallest building and its highest residences at 724 feet or 220 metres – was designed by Henry Cobb of Pei Cobb Freed & Partners in collaboration with Gary Johnson of CambridgeSeven Associates.

Surrounding the elliptical “guitar pick” shaped building are streetscapes by landscape architect Michael Van Valkenburgh. Bill Rooney of Bill Rooney Studio Inc was commissioned to drive the design aesthetic of the hotel’s public spaces and guest rooms.

The Hotel’s 215 hotel rooms and suites feature floor-to-ceiling windows, with every detail anticipating the needs and wants of modern travellers, from soundproofing between floors and rooms and precision-glazed windows to at-one’s-fingertips in-room technologies.

Original works selected from the Hotel’s extensive art collection curated by Kate Chertavian are in every room and suite, as well as public spaces throughout Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, Boston.

Amongst the hotel’s sophisticated culinary offering is Japanese dining brand, Zuma. Leading the culinary team are corporate Executive Chef Oliver Lange and Chef Helmy Saadon, who comes to Boston by way of Zuma locations in Dubai, New York and Abu Dhabi.

Tokyo-based Noryoshi Muramatsu of Studio Glitt designed the restaurant’s interiors, inspired by the four elements and incorporating gigantic stone boulders from Thailand and richly textured furnishings lit by bamboo lanterns.

Also located on the second floor is One + One, which serves up breakfast and lunch in a space flooded with light from floor-to-ceiling windows.

Spanning the entire 7th floor of Four Seasons Hotel One Dalton Street, the Wellness Floor at One Dalton is a refuge from busy urban life.

As well as the spa, which offers five treatment rooms, this floor features a fitness centre with state-of-the-art Precor equipment chosen by celebrity trainer and Four Seasons Global Fitness Advisor, Harley Pasternak, as well as a salon offering hair, nail and makeup services. A 20m pool arcs along the building’s curved windows, with lounges and chairs placed for relaxation and taking in the views.
