After a buoyant six months, Sealy UK has successfully completed a number of hospitality projects, which has seen it supply over 1,800 mattresses to customers including the new Saga Discovery cruise ship, The Standard in London and The Stratford in east London.

The Standard, the first hotel by this brand outside of the US, will feature 280 mattresses from Sealy, built to a new bespoke specification and including a layer of Geltex, which offers the triple benefits of breathability, pressure relief and optimal body support for the perfect night’s rest.

This follows Sealy’s supply of 218 mattresses and 245 complete beds to The Stratford, which incorporates a 145-bedroom hotel and 248 rental loft apartments.

This contract saw Sealy delivering 463 Naples Pillowtop mattresses to the project, a top of range pocket spring mattress again with a layer of Geltex and additional edge support.

Sealy also recently supplied over 1,000 passenger mattresses to Saga’s new Discovery cruise ship. A brand new model which has been named the ‘Sailaway’, the Posturepedic mattress is exclusive to Saga and will help guests aboard the new ship enjoy their best sleep yet following its naming ceremony on the 5th July.

“We are thrilled to have won so many prestigious contracts with fantastic customers over the last few months,” says Julie Gray, contract sales manager for Sealy. “Hotels and cruise ships are taking their bed and mattress offering more seriously than ever before as guests look for a location that will help them achieve that all-important great night’s sleep, and we hope our mattresses will help our customer’s guests achieve this.”

Chris Turner, Head of Procurement at The Stratford, adds: “Sealy’s ability to design and deliver for our hotel is testament to the team’s knowledge, experience and expertise in the bed industry. We’re delighted with the mattresses and look forward to working with the team again in the not too distant future.”
