For TUUCI, the Miami-based manufacturer of nautically-inspired shade, shelter and open-air furnishings, 2021 has been a key year. One of the most major developments has been the addition of David Schutte as the organisation’s new President.

David’s tenure within the design industry and his well-refined leadership skills made him the ideal executive to fulfill the company’s worldwide strategic initiatives.

“Since our humble beginnings inside a small boat shop in South Miami, TUUCI has been transforming the shade industry and inspiring audiences around the world to reimagine modern, open-air living,” says Dougan Clarke, Founder, CEO and Chief Product Architect of TUUCI. “We are thrilled to welcome David to the TUUCI family and to join in our journey of inspired outdoor living.”

“Since our humble beginnings inside a small boat shop in South Miami, TUUCI has been transforming the shade industry and inspiring audiences around the world to reimagine modern, open-air living”

Over the past 16 years, David has held four consecutive senior executive positions within Knoll, Inc., a $1.2b international furniture brand for residential, contract, and hospitality interiors. Most recently, he served as Executive Vice President and Corporate Officer, with full P+L responsibilities for five specialty divisions within the larger corporation. In that role, David developed a wide industry lens by leading businesses spanning residential to contract, trade to consumer, and brick + mortar to e-commerce.

“Over the years, I’ve watched TUUCI reimagine outdoor living with their fresh take on leisure space architecture,” says David. “Combining art and design with durable, marine grade engineering, their products blend seamlessly in any environment.

“The TUUCI organisation is incredibly devoted to making its customers’ extraordinary visions come true, whether in North America or around the globe. I am excited to partner with Dougan and the TUUCI worldwide team to continue that remarkable journey.”
