Kai’s stylish woven fabrics

Kai has a rich heritage within the textiles industry. The company is part of the Ashley Wilde Group, a family-owned business spanning three generations, which has designed and produced fabrics for over 60 years. Established in 1950, the group has grown steadily into one of the market leaders in the soft furnishing and fabrics sector.

A unique focus for Kai is the integral highly sophisticated in-house design studio, which comes complete with a team of talented designers that produces innovative and influential designs. Working independently or closely with clients, the Kai design team offers a bespoke tailored service, combining expertise with specific requirements.

The in-house design team is continually creating new designs, techniques and styles, focusing on the Kai objective to create individual style with contemporary sophisticated design. The team, in turn, is supported by experienced staff who are committed to providing a high standard of service to every customer.

The company’s portfolio embraces a collection to meet every requirement within the contract sector, including FR fabrics and Trevira weaves. The  striking selection of designs – both prints and plains – highlights Kai’s record for innovation and design. Fabrics are selected for their comfort, while retaining a luxurious quality.

Kai’s stylish woven fabrics are ideally suited for the hotel and hospitality sector, and are accompanied by a wide variety of plains, velvets, ribbed satins, and cottons – all meeting the rigorous demands required for contract projects. Such a criteria makes them ideally suited for all soft furnishings applications, be it curtains, bedding or upholstery.

The new collections offer a wide choice of fabrics with a colour palette to suit both modern and traditional interiors. Tsonga features distinctive designs, combining animal skin-inspired weaves, contemporary geometrics and textured fabrics. Small-scale patterns complement bold geometric ogees, which have hidden patterns within them.

A striking organic lattice burn-out sheer ideally sits with the other tactile fabrics, creating a layered aesthetic suitable for any interior. Colours range from softer tones of pearl, silver and heather to bolder shades of navy, zest, raspberry and saffron.

Janco Impressionist-inspired fabrics fuse to create a collection that is full of personality and colour. Painterly brush strokes create movement within the cloth and add interest and depth to the weaves. Chunky, textured, speckled weaves, distressed chenilles and three-dimensional semi-sheers combine to complete the look. This sumptuous palette includes dijon, marine, berry, denim, mink and stone tones.
