Meliá Palas Atenea, an emblematic hotel on the Paseo Marítimo promenade in Palma de Mallorca, has undergone a renovation that aims to improve its positioning and meet the high standards of Meliá Hotels & Resorts. With the initial renovation of 200 rooms and its spacious lobby, the hotel has been added to a long list of hotels that Meliá Hotels International has renovated in Mallorca over the past few years, as part of a commitment to improve the island’s tourist facilities.
Meliá Palas Atenea opened in 1974 and has since become a landmark hotel on the city’s Paseo Marítimo promenade. The hotel lobby has been renovated to enhance spaciousness and elegance under the watchful eye of architect Álvaro Sans. To optimise the available space and make it more open to local residents, the lobby bar has been refurbished to become the striking Blue Lounge Bar – Gin Club, an ideal place to enjoy a selection of cocktails.
The improvement and renovation of hotels such as the Meliá Palas Atenea reflect the group’s strategy to enhance brand equity. The company is set to upgrade all of its hotels with cutting-edge features, design, new technology and complementary facilities – all with the aim of improving positioning and product differentiation based on experiences and high added value.
