This striking Georgian manor house – formerly the home of Percy Shelley’s family -has undergone an extensive refurbishment, and now boasts a chic interior fitting of a 4* stately country hotel.
The first stage of the refurbishment entailed a £300,000 investment into the transformation of the hotel’s pubic spaces and restaurant, as well as the creation of The Percy Shelley Suite. The second phase, which included the redesign of a number of bedrooms, was recently completed in time for the grand public opening.
Helen Hooper of HH Interiors was responsible for the interior design, having worked previously with Jupiter Hotels on a number of renovation projects across the UK.
“Throughout the public areas, the interior fuses contemporary fabrics and colours with traditional period features and detail,” says Helen. “The fabrics are luxurious, textural and sumptuous in strong, but elegant colours, and the lighting is contemporary and glamorous. The lounge and bar areas are filtrated with deep navy blue furniture and striking ombre wallpaper. The hotel’s new look epitomises nostalgic elegance with a modern day style.”
The elegantly-styled Orangery Restaurant features a more rustic, relaxed feel and offers diners striking views of the hotel’s grounds and rural surroundings.
The Percy Shelley Suite – created in honour of the celebrated poet’s family, who once owned the manor – reflects the natural beauty of its surroundings, and is decorated with soft shades of contemporary greys.
The romantic tented ceiling, soft elegant lighting and luxurious cream satin curtains make this striking new suite the perfect space for weddings or special events, accommodating up to 120 guests.
