Market Halls to launch this year

Andy Lewis-Pratt, whose experience as a former property investor has been invaluable in securing buildings of great architectural importance and merit, is joined by Simon Anderson the entrepreneur and restaurateur behind Pitt Cue. All the spaces will be open seven days a week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Market Hall Fulham, opening with 10 kitchens and a bar, will be the first site to open in Spring 2018 and will be housed in the well-preserved entrance hall of the Edwardian Underground station at Fulham Broadway.

Following that, Market Halls Victoria will open in Summer 2018 transforming the arcaded bays at Victoria’s Terminus Place (aka Pacha) into a three story food hall opening with 14 kitchens and three bars.

“We wanted to bring these sites back to life and make them useful spaces for the community, places that cater for locals, workers, families and visitors alike”

Finally, the flagship – Market Halls West End – will launch in the Autumn in part of the former BHS building just off Oxford Street. Coinciding with the pedestrianisation of Oxford Circus, Market Halls West End will be the largest food hall in the UK and feature a mix of local producers, retailers, restaurants, street food vendors, four bars, event spaces and a demo kitchen. There will be 3 further London launches which we’ll be announcing at the end of the year, as well as expansion planned for various cities across the UK.

“Food halls are nothing new of course, but we want to create permanent dining hubs that work for the community, something we haven’t seen yet in the UK,” comments Andy Lewis-Pratt, CEO of Market Halls. “The majority of buildings we are working with were originally designed as bustling cultural or commercial hubs, but for whatever reason have been lying empty.

“We wanted to bring these sites back to life and make them useful spaces for the community, places that cater for locals, workers, families and visitors alike.”
