Basement Sate is a new cocktail bar and club launching in Soho early September. Offering beautifully made cocktails, rare spirits, and cutting edge DJs, Basement Sate will provide discerning Londoners with a low key yet stylish late-night hangout in central London.
Basement Sate is the brainchild of Cathleen McGarry, the co-owner of the world-renowned Sherry Butt cocktail bar in Paris. Dublin born Cathleen was attracted by the diversity of the drinking and nightlife scene in London, and wanted to introduce something entirely new to the Soho area. Somewhere people can dance and drink quality cocktails in a cool and dynamic atmosphere.
Situated in the heart of Soho on Broadwick Street, the 120 capacity basement bar’s interiors are polished and tasteful. The design has combined raw brickwork with rich furnishings, lending an sleek yet intimate feel to the venue. With dark wood panelled snugs, low lighting, copper topped tables, green leather seating and furniture designed by Fleming and Howland, the overall atmosphere is reminiscent of a lovingly-designed living room.
Designed by Byly Tran (L’Entree Des Artistes & Prescription Cocktail Club), the 12 strong cocktail list at Basement Sate is made up of inventive house creations, twists on classics and a range of carefully selected quality spirits.
With a Martin Audio sound system (also used in Ministry Of Sound & Fabric), and residencies from London and Paris’s hottest DJs, Basement Sate’s music policy is a main focus, a genuine haven for true music lovers who are looking for diverse sounds away from the mainstream.
With a long bar counter, booths and separate seating, Basement Sate is perfect for groups both big and small. The bar will take reservations and provide table service.
