Beyond London opens in Kensington

In search of a new adventure, Chef Ian Pengelley’s latest collaboration leads him to stylish Kensington to open Beyond London. Open as of 3rd November, Beyond is Kensington’s first lounge to offer gourmet dining, expertly crafted cocktails and table bottle service. Beyond London will be leading the marketplace in lounges, combining premier service with award-winning food and drinks crafted by expert mixologist Andy Mil.

Renowned chef Ian Pengelley will be joining Beyond London as executive chef. Having started his career at the age of 15, he has a formidable reputation within the field of Pan-Asian cuisine. Spending most of his childhood in Hong Kong and training in Asia, chef Pengelley’s most recent roles include executive chef at Gilgamesh.

Beyond London’s guests will be offered Pan-Asian small plates that play with the senses by utilising a mix of textures and smells, and challenging conventional cooking. Bringing together a mix of flavours and whimsical ideas, chef Pengelley has created a menu of tempting small and large plates and happy endings. Key dishes include sea bass and gold flake steamed dumplings, mixed bubbling and smoking sashimi and green tea chocolate fondant.

On the new project, chef Pengelley states: “Bridging together the love of food, drink and incredible service, this new venture will please those with impeccable taste. Beyond is going to offer the Kensington neighbourhood award winning food and drink with a club-like feel – music, fun, dancing. Beyond will have it all.”

Joining chef Pengelley at Beyond London will be award-winning mixologist Andy Mil who will be creating bespoke cocktails which pair alongside the small-plates.

As one of the worlds’ most awarded bartenders, Andy Mil has received countless accolades. Winner of the Imbibe Bar Personality of the Year for Achievements Under 30, he takes inspiration from the most mundane things and makes them extraordinary. Currently, he is a consultant to three top venues in London, and has recently opened The Cocktail Trading Co. in London and Her Majesty’s Secret Service in Bristol.

On his crafted drink menu for Beyond, Andy states: “The cocktail menu is a fluid impressionist account of the history of creation. With drinks spanning from the Big Bang, the creation of the Moon before moving onto the eons of earth and periods of man.”

Guests can look forward to sipping on drinks such as the Ra! – a cocktail that envelopes the table with orange oil and hydrogen air, and is ignited at the table leaving a golden shimmering drink that represents the birth of the sun.

Embodying the spirit of a cultured and stylish crowd, Beyond London will see London’s affable and well-connected clientele for early evening and late-night entertainment. Seeing a gap in the market, Beyond London will be providing the best in food & drink to its customers who demand great service and a personal touch usually reserved for Mayfair’s high-end nightclubs.

With plush sofas, private booths and music to set the mood, the calming atmosphere will make for an idyllic social setting. Complete with a lounge concierge service, the attentive staff can provide a lavish experience into the early hours.
