Domes unveils new adults-only extension at flagship Domes of Elounda

Domes Resorts, Greece’s luxury lifestyle hospitality brand, has unveiled its latest addition to flagship property, Domes of Elounda, with the opening of an exclusive adults-only lifestyle wing, CHORA: Stone-Built, Scene-Made. Featuring 17 elegantly designed retreats and suites, a private pool, restaurant and bar, this secluded area further elevates the guest experience at the popular family-focused resort.

Inspired by indoor-outdoor island living, each retreat and suite is centred around unrivalled views of the island of Spinalonga, offering a special perspective of the Cretan coast. Five suites feature their own private plunge pool, while the remaining 12 are equipped with outdoor Jacuzzis. All suites open onto their own private patio and are furnished with locally sourced wooden pieces, echoing traditional Cretan village design.

The design philosophy of Urban Soul Project, centres around the local island landscape with architectural cues from the rocky shores, stone-built walls and cobbled stone pathways of its surroundings. Featuring calming neutrals and earth tones with stone, marble and wooden elements, accented by distinctive red travertine rock, each suite welcomes guests to relax in bright, open surroundings. Softly textured fabrics are paired with tastefully patterned tiles and geometric motifs to provide the finishing touches. Through arched openings, guests can find comfortable four poster beds adorned with patterned hangings, and bathrooms equipped with double vanities and a spacious bath and shower area.

At the heart of CHORA is a refreshed gastronomy offering, with Domes’ latest culinary concept Antonino’s Pool Bar Restaurant, which launched at the start of the season. Inspired by laid-back summer afternoons and recipes passed down through generations, Antonino’s combines vintage Italian charm with Greek island ambience. A warm return to slow dining and seaside simplicity, guests can enjoy Italian classics, including handmade pasta and wood-fired pizza as well as an extensive wine and cocktail list, utilising Greek and local produce. The new wing also includes its own tranquil adults-only pool and lounging area, designed as a secluded oasis for those seeking uninterrupted relaxation overlooking the breathtaking Spinalonga Islet.

The expansion brings a new perspective to Domes of Elounda, marking it as not only the flagship property, but also as the ultimate lifestyle destination. Guests still have access to the rest of the resort, which features five additional dining venues including Michelin-starred Makris, a Greek fine-dining restaurant which showcases seasonal ingredients from the on-site farm. The hotel is also home to its award-winning Soma Spa, offering an indoor pool and bespoke treatments inspired by Minoan traditions along with innovative Elemis and Codage Paris products, as well as four further outdoor swimming pools and its own private Vilebrequin La Plage beach with sandy shores, rarely found on the island.
