DoubleTree by Hilton has announced the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Wuhu in China’s Anhui province. Strategically located in the central business district, the 26-story hotel features 442 contemporary guest rooms – including 23 suites – five distinctive restaurants, the city’s largest ballroom at 1000m² and nine multi-functional meeting rooms. The hotel is operated by Hilton Worldwide and owned by Wuhu Shimao New Century Property Co.
“We are delighted to introduce DoubleTree by Hilton’s first hotel in Wuhu, a city rich in culture and business potential,” says John Greenleaf, global head at DoubleTree by Hilton. “We look forward to welcoming guests both from within and from outside of China to experience our globally-recognised service culture, centred around the idea of CARE, or Create A Rewarding Experience, for guests, team members and the community. CARE starts with the iconic warm chocolate chip cookie presented to each guest upon arrival, and extends through every aspect of their stay.”
Bruce McKenzie, senior vice-president of operations, Greater China and Mongolia at Hilton Worldwide, adds: “Wuhu is experiencing rapid economic development, and the opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Wuhu is critical to this continued growth. This year marks the 25th anniversary of Hilton Worldwide’s presence in mainland China, and this hotel reinforces our continued commitment to the market and the growing success of the DoubleTree by Hilton brand throughout China.”
