The Italian chef, Francesco Mazzei, is set to open Fiume, a new modern Italian restaurant at Battersea Power Station this summer.
The launch is Mazzei’s third since 2015, joining Sartoria on Savile Row and Radici in Islington, and will be open for lunch and dinner.
Francesco Mazzei will oversee Fiume (Italian for river) as Chef Patron, but will hand over the day-to-day running of the kitchen to Head Chef, Francesco Chiarelli.
Fiume will be set within the first phase of the area’s Battersea Power Station £9billion redevelopment, named Circus West Village, right by the Thames and overlooking the piazza.
The 120-cover restaurant will be designed by Macaulay Sinclair and feature an open kitchen complete with wood-fired oven, bar counter dining for 15 covers, and a terrace where up to 50 guests can dine al fresco.
“When I saw the plans for Circus West Village and Battersea Power Station as a whole, there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to be involved,” comments Chef Patron Francesco Mazzei. “It is a one-of-a-kind project that will attract people from all over the world and I cannot wait to feed them all!”
