Harumi Sushi & Bar celebrating 10 Years

Harumi Sushi & Bar stands as a true embodiment of our overarching concept: the Elusive Beauty of Imperfection. The House of Form design team leaned into the Japanese philosophy of wabi-sabi, anchoring the design ethos in the use of natural, raw materials, organic shapes, and a calming neutral palette. As a result, the atmosphere exudes tranquility and authenticity.

The design principles created during the concept discovery revolve around three key rules: celebrate asymmetry and unevenness, introduce hints of age and patina, and resist the mass-produced. Guided by these deliberate rules, the space celebrates asymmetry and unevenness with cornered mirrors, randomised light fixtures, and casework adorned with ceramic pots. Hints of age and patina emerge through weathered stone, metal accents, and the traditional Japanese charring technique of Shou Sugi Ban. Boulders find purpose as both aesthetic elements and functional components, serving as benches and server stations. Embodying the philosophy to resist the mass-produced, the space features one-of-one pieces, ensuring a unique dining experience. This commitment to the design principles contributes to an atmospheric and curated dining environment that is authentically Harumi Sushi & Bar.
