Hilden announces winners of 2015 Style Awards

The winners of the Hilden Style Awards 2015 have now been announced, following yesterday’s successful Judges’ Lunch held at The Fable, London.

The winning venues this year are: Artist Residence, winner of Most Stylish Bathroom, Unique Chic Bijou Edinburgh Apartments, winner of Most Stylish Guestroom and The Church Inn at Mobberley, winner of Most Stylish Dining Experience.

The Hilden Style Awards celebrates unique style and interior design from the independent and boutique hospitality sector. This year’s judges included Thom Hetherington, CEO of Holden Media and organiser of the Northern Restaurant and Bar Exhibition; Nora Elias, Editor of the Professional Spa & Wellness magazine; Kerry Adams, Regional Chair of the UK Housekeepers Association (UKHA) for Yorkshire and North-East and Anne Britton, Executive Housekeeper of the Jumeirah Carlton Tower Hotel, London.

In September the judges whittled down the entries to just three per category, shortly afterwards all venues received a visit from representatives of the Hilden awards.

Winning comments:
“¢ Artist Residence, winner of Most Stylish Bathroom. Judges’ comments; “Of all the finalists this is something we haven’t seen before, completely unique and gives you a sense of a remote log cabin in the middle of a city. Love what they have done with the space.”
“¢ Unique Chic Edinburgh Apartments, unanimous winner of Most Stylish Guestroom. Judges’ comments; “This really epitomises the owner’s personality and quirky sense of style. The apartments are very small which you’d expect for such a prime location but it goes to prove that size doesn’t have to hamper style. It is much harder to style small spaces than large open rooms so we must show appreciation of how the space has been used. Fabulous.”
“¢ The Church Inn, winner of Most Stylish Dining Experience. Judges’ comments; “The attention to detail is on another level, no corner is left uncovered and they have captured the essence of a historic venue perfectly. The sheer effort that has gone into creating a unique, country dining experience is fantastic. When can we eat here?”

“The calibre this year was simply outstanding and we would like to thank every venue who entered the awards this year,” says Rod Nutter, one of this year’s Style Awards judges and Commercial Director for Hilden. “All of our nine finalists were extremely different and offered something unique to their guests so deciding the winner was not without firm debate, but we did get there in the end. We are thankful to all the amazing venues we’ve had the pleasure of visiting and dealing with.”

Whilst the Hilden Style Awards are over for another year, Rod comments on the plans for 2016: “The awards have got bigger and bigger every year and we are constantly looking at how we can improve the awards to cater to changes in the market.

“Next year we will probably look at shaking up the categories once again to cater for different elements of the independent hospitality sector and keep things fresh so that we can see new styles and offerings each year. We would like to say a huge congratulations to the winners of this year’s awards, who are all worthy winners and we look forward to visiting them again soon.”
