Hilton Worldwide has signed a management agreement with First Qatar Real Estate Development Company to open Hilton Doha The Pearl Residences, Qatar. The hotel is expected to open early 2017.

The new 445-room hotel will be located in the upscale and exclusive man-made island, Pearl-Qatar, which is regarded as one of the most prestigious areas of the city of Doha. The hotel will be ideally positioned at the entrance on the main pearl Expressway, and surrounded by upscale and stylish cafes, shops and restaurants.

Rob Palleschi, global head at Hilton Hotels & Resorts, says: “We’re tremendously excited to introduce our first property to the fashionable and popular Doha district of Pearl-Qatar island and welcome the opportunity to become part of its thriving community. We are confident this outstanding new landmark property will quickly become a favourite destination for residents and visitors.”

The 41-storey hotel is the second residences-style property planned by Hilton Worldwide for the capital, and will comprise a wide mix of quality serviced apartments – from small studio units to expansive three-bedroom apartments, penthouses and townhouses. Designed to attract leisure and business travellers, the hotel will feature a comprehensive range of amenities including three boardrooms, a business centre, a large health club and outdoor swimming pool. Dining options will include a lobby lounge, an all-day dining outlet, a speciality restaurant and a pool bar.

Rudi Jagersbacher, president at Hilton Worldwide, Middle East & Africa, adds: “I am delighted to see the determined pace of progress we are making in such an important Middle East market. The addition of Hilton Doha The Pearl Residences, Qatar to our countrywide portfolio – including Hilton Doha, which opened two years ago and quickly became a favourite regional destination – supports our strategy of bringing a range of world-class brands to key destinations, and this latest signing will perfectly complement our existing development pipeline for the city.”
