Hyatt Regency London unveils new-look event spaces

Hyatt Regency London – The Churchill has unveiled an extensive set of recently refurbished events spaces for all types of business and social occasions. Working with renowned BJB designers, along with Churchill Heritage, the Marylebone-based luxury hotel completed the renovation of its six existing events spaces and one complete build of an entirely new space.

Each area has its own personality with nods to Sir Winston Churchill’s life, the man to whom the hotel pays homage. Through artwork, photographs and books, the spaces tell the story of Churchill’s leisure and work life, as well as his travels, passions and achievements as a statesman, while the interior design lends a touch of glamour and individuality to any event.

The Library

The Library serves as a smaller space for intimate events, holding 40 people in a banquet format, and up to 75 as a reception, making this an ideal space for special occasions such as weddings and birthdays. The Library seamlessly leads through to the hotel’s largest space, the Chartwell Ballroom. All of the event spaces are also conveniently situated on the same floor for celebrations, weddings and events.

The Library boasts a deep green colour, evoking a luxurious and sophisticated atmosphere. As the design of the Library celebrates Sir Winston Churchill’s love of travel and adventure, the space promises to bring people together and strike up a conversation inspired by this exciting collection of books and photographs.

Guests can admire and delve into the historic literature lining the walls, whilst photographs from Sir Winston’s personal photograph albums – The Broadwater Collection – showcases Churchill enjoying his leisure time, whether playing polo, boarding a cruise with his wife Clementine, or donning a captain’s hat for a day as a yachtsman. As a recipient of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1953, Sir Winston Churchil’s personal connection to literature and the written word make the Library an apt dedication to his legacy.

The Gallery

The Gallery is a brand new build, offering another 145 square meters of space to the hotel and can accommodate up to 120 in a reception capacity, and 110 theatre style, making the Gallery an ideal option for larger events. Additionally, The Gallery can be opened up seamlessly onto the studios, bringing the total potential capacity to 200 in reception format. As the name suggests, The Gallery is adorned with inspiring artwork, and enjoys an abundance of natural daylight along with outside access to the front of the hotel.

The neutral and calming colour scheme has been based on the natural landscape and Churchill’s own stunning gardens at Chartwell House. The pale green walls are lit up by a Preciosa chandelier, which has been designed with treetops in mind. Handmade with Bohemian hand blown glass, the golden branches are each lit up, to give the impression of sunlight dappling onto the floor below. The impressionist charm for which Churchill’s artwork is known personifies the Gallery Studio, adding a touch of glamour to any event.
