Prominent hotel, restaurant and spa designer, Inge Moore, has been named Gold Key Designer of the Year the Gold Key Awards for Excellence in Hospitality Design. As principal of The Gallery HBA London, Inge has been in charge of implementing the style of work and team culture that has seen the studio complete a range of award-winning projects over the last few months.
“Everything I see is an inspiration, whether it’s in nature, magazines, books, people or art,” Inge explains. “At The Gallery, our belief is that our work should have a story – a framework for the concept and a source for the design details which together elicit an emotional reaction to the environment, and which makes hotel guests feel cared for while inviting a journey of discovery.”
In addition to managing The Gallery projects, Inge has founded a partnership with the International Hotel and Tourism Training Institute in Neuchatel, Switzerland, to encourage and educate young designers. She also provides internship opportunities to several national and overseas design schools.
Inge’s recent project portfolio covers prominent hotels such as Hotel Maria Cristina in San Sebastian; The Alpina Gstaad, Switzerland; the Royal Suite in the InterContinental Park Lane, London; and Hotel Alfonso Xlll in Seville.
“Receiving the Gold Key Designer of the Year Award, and following in the footsteps of so many great designers from around the world, is really wonderful,” says Inge. “It is testimony to my fabulous team, the great clients we have worked with and the continuing love I have for what I do. Nothing is better in my working life than those quiet times when I am just designing.”
