Innvik Sellgren and Kvadrat have now joined forces, creating a Scandinavian stronghold in high quality textile supply for its joint clients.

Sharing a long standing relationship and a mutual passion for wool, Kvadrat and Norwegian textile manufacturer, Innvik Sellgren, have now entered an even closer strategic partnership, with Kvadrat A/S buying a 30% share in Innvik Sellgren and merging the two Norwegian sales organisations into one – Kvadrat Norge.

The agreement will be effective from 1st January 2016, with Olav Rune Haugen appointed as Country Director for Kvadrat Norge as. Olav comes from a position as co-CEO at Innvik Sellgren.

“This formal partnership can be seen as a natural next step in a friendship that goes back 15 years and it allows us to further enhance our leadership in woolen textiles,” says Anders Byriel, CEO Kvadrat. “Innvik’s capability and technology to rapidly produce special designs will enhance our possibilities to deliver custom-made woollen textiles to our clients. It will create a lot of opportunities for both clients, employees at Innvik and the local community of the town of Innvik.”

Already a significant production partner for the Kvadrat/Raf Simons collection, the collaboration between Innvik and Kvadrat will continue to focus on the production of wool as a core competence. Innvik with 125 years of tradition and experience is particularly strong in soft wools. Furthermore clients will gain access to the full Kvadrat collection including Kvadrat products produced by Innvik like Tokyo, Medina and Savanna.

The collaboration will accelerate the sales of Innvik products worldwide. With greater capacity, more people and a more complete product offering the partnership will establish a strong foundation for specialisation in the core segments furniture manufacturers, architects, retail shops and reupholsterers.

The team in Innvik, under the leadership of Arve R. Haugen, will remain largely unchanged and will continue its focus on product development, design, sales and customer service for the Norwegian furniture industry.

“This is wonderful news for both clients, employees and our local community,” says Bjørn Aage Haugen, CEO of Innvik Sellgren. “It is testament to how tradition, craftsmanship and a commitment to quality products render results and how Norwegian production is well worth the effort. It is particularly pleasing that we now stand to realise an expansive growth plan, which will benefit both partners.”
