Marriott Hotels and Miyako Hotels & Resorts have announced the highly-anticipated opening of the Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel, the first property for the brand in Osaka and the fourth in Japan.
The new co-branded hotel is situated in Kintetsu’s Abeno Harukas, a brand-new 300m ultra-high-rise complex with 60 stories above ground and five stories underground, making it the tallest building in Japan. All 360 guest rooms and the hotel’s signature ZK restaurant are located on the top floors of the building, boasting awe-inspiring views of Osaka.
Simon Cooper, Marriott International’s president and managing director for Asia Pacific, comments: “Marriott International’s model for growth around the world is to work with local partners who have the right local expertise, knowledge and skills, and who share our own values and culture. In Miyako Hotels & Resorts we have found an excellent partner to work with here in Japan and we are excited to open the first Marriott Hotels property in this very important city.”
Masahiko Torii, GM at the Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel, adds: “Marriott Hotels and Japan’s Miyako Hotels & Resorts are delighted to have joined together to proudly offer the highest standards of global hospitality, but with a Japanese touch, in Osaka. Our new hotel is ready to welcome guests from Japan and all over the world, and we anticipate the Osaka Marriott Miyako Hotel will become the most prominent new landmark and symbol of Osaka.”
