Meliá Hotels International has announced the opening of Meliá Yangon, the first hotel operated by the company in Myanmar.

Situated on Kaba Aye Pagoda Road, only 15 minutes drive to the city centre and 10 minutes drive from the iconic Shwedagon Pagoda. The Yangon’s largest and latest shopping mall, Myanmar Plaza, is directly connected to the hotel.

The hotel overlooks the scenic beauty of the Inya Lake, and provides 430 spacious, modern and inviting rooms starting from 48 square metres, all furnished with state-of-the-art amenities.

Guests on The Level, the Meliá’s signature executive floor, enjoy a personalised service with exquisite privileges, such as exclusive access to The Level Lounge, on the top floor with stunning 360 degrees views of the city and Inya Lake.

Meliá Yangon boasts three high-end restaurants. The Market, an all-day dining restaurant in an authentic open market setting, offers local delicacies, Asian favourites and western classics, perfect for business meals as well as casual dinings with family and friends. The Lantern delights with the best that Vietnam has to offer: reinterpreted classics to reflect modern fine dining for eclectic palate. The art deco touch meets Vietnamese ambience, letting guests also enjoy an intimate atmosphere in its private rooms. In just a few weeks, Olea restaurant will open its doors and invite guests to a journey in the Mediterranean: an exquisite and modern culinary restaurant of pure European cuisine with an exotic twist.

At the end of the year, Meliá Yangon will introduce a luxurious and elegant Hollywood golden age atmosphere in the trendy Garbo Bar, named after the famous actress Greta Garbo. Enjoyable moments in a casual and glamorous ambient to unwind with top shelf liquors and delectable morsels in afterwork hours.

More than 2,000m2 of convention area with various sizes of ballrooms and function rooms equipped with the latest technology will hold any type of events, from small meeting to state level conference, including banquets and weddings.

Its facilities will also include an outdoor swimming pool, a fitness center and a soon-to-open 1,800m2 world class YHI spa will offer treatments such as hydro-massage, Vichy and jet showers, jacuzzi and sauna.
