Moskito Island debuts spectacular new state-of-the-art estate, The Village

Moskito Island, the Caribbean’s newest private island, has launched a brand-new nine-bedroom grand estate, The Village. Delivering a one-of-a-kind, luxury living experience, The Village joins three ultra-lavish estates that already call Moskito home – The Branson Estate (owned by Sir Richard Branson), The Oasis Estate and The Point Estate. Crafted into the cliffside, The Village estate seamlessly blends cutting edge architecture with high tech amenities and delightful surprises waiting to be discovered to create an extravagant Caribbean getaway. Following its highly anticipated debut in late-2021, Moskito Island now offers discerning travellers four distinctive and highly- personalized private retreats as part of the Virgin Limited Edition portfolio.

Each estate on Moskito Island has its own unique identity and The Village is no exception to this. Perched on the furthest western tip of the island with astounding sea views across to Virgin Gorda, the 18,100 sq. ft. estate, set in 3.5 acres, presents a strikingly modern design comprised of multiple cottage-like structures that nestle into the topography, showcasing thatched roofs that blend naturally into the landscape. Featuring nine bedrooms, comfortably accommodating up to 18 guests and available for exclusive buyout only, it is the estate’s futuristic technology and quirky amenities that sets it apart. From a hidden DJ booth that rises from the outdoor deck overlooking a two-story infinity pool and the cantilevered glass-bottom hot tub extended over the cliff edge that will be ready in 2023; to a slide that wraps around the edge of the estate, and an exceptionally advanced lighting and sound system that simply takes these amenities to the next level.

“Since our anticipated opening late-last year, we’ve humbly been celebrated on the world stage for delivering an exceptional and extremely unique hospitality experience in the Caribbean that goes beyond the realms of traditional luxury. The debut of The Village is the next phase in the continuous evolution of Moskito Island – a private island escape unlike any other,” says Jon Brown, Managing Director at Virgin Limited Edition. “A decade in the making, The Village Estate takes luxury to new heights, much like its sister estates, with an impressively striking design, state-of-the-art creative amenities and unspoiled panoramic views in the most private of settings. Moskito Island knows no limit when it comes to providing incomparable, luxurious moments and adding The Village to our collection further amplifies our position as the leaders of luxury in the Caribbean.”

A beautifully designed home-away-from-home, each of the nine guest rooms at The Village act as their own secluded retreat with ensuite bathrooms, private living room space and spacious terraces or patios. The crown jewel is the two-story Master Suite designed in a circular loop and completed by a 360-degree wrap-around terrace that not only creates a seamless indoor-outdoor living experience but boasts the most spectacular views.

The Village’s main house is a true entertaining hub and intended as a beacon of sorts, sitting proudly at the top of the hill. A communal bar – matched with a uniquely designed living area – draws up to a spiral staircase that leads to the estate’s rooftop. Playing into the estate’s high-tech offerings, the staircase is also wrapped with audio-synced, LED lighting, where the lights move to the beat of the music projected from the stadium-quality sound system.

Taking centre stage of The Village is the vast undulating multi-level infinity-edge pool that is anchored at either end by the Main Pavilion and Dining Pavilion and lined with palm trees that create a tropical oasis inspired by the flavours of a Balinese garden. Unique features are perfectly designed into the pool spaces, with a submerged dry lounge, swim-up bar and second pool that leads to the Master-Suite – all enhanced by breath-taking views and the surrounding calm of Caribbean waters.

The submerged ‘bar’ sits at the edge of the pool for a ‘sit and sip’ in-water moment and a glass encased dry-lounge with sunken fire pit is built into the centre of the pool, while a unique eight-seater under-the-water dining table lies at the infinity-edge. A slide spirals down from the submerged bar to connect the top infinity space with a secondary lower-level pool, and through an undercover archway sits a hidden tranquil escape, providing a lower entrance to the Main Pavilion.

Additional amenities of The Village include a fully-equipped, state-of-the-art gym, sound-proof home cinema, pizza oven and an organic kitchen garden from which freshly harvested produce is used daily by dedicated chefs curating tailor-made dining experiences for guests and at the same time helps reducing produce waste for the estate.

Outside of their very-own, hyper-personalized, private estate, guests of Moskito Island have access to world-class communal recreational areas including two arena-inspired tennis courts, watersports centre, gaming, entertaining and movie areas in the communal Beach House, and a fully serviced private beach. Gastronomy on the island knows no limits, with an array of dining locations and tailored experiences to choose from; whether picnics on Manchioneel Beach, candlelit dinners under the Caribbean stars or pizza-making classes at The Beach House or in the comfort of your own estate.

Bespoke and personalized spa treatments are offered in the comfort of each estate or across the island in private, secluded locations too.

Rates for The Village start from $19,000 per night during low-season, for up to 18 guests. Rates include a dedicated Estate Manager and team of staff, as well as a team of private chefs across the island. Moskito Island offers a high-end all-inclusive model where all meals, drinks, non-motorized watersports and curation of a fully personalized itinerary are all part of the rate. Minimum night stays apply throughout the year.
