Based at Willenhall in the West Midlands, mrfdesign manufactures contemporary furniture for the contract market, working with architects, interior designers, specifiers, trade suppliers and end users. The company can handle work from small-batch production and project-based requirements through to full roll-out programmes.

mrfdesign has an extensive range of standard product available – including chairs, sofas, high stools, cubes & tables, as well as bespoke furniture design solutions. The company’s contemporary designs have a wide appeal across many sectors, including Hotels, Leisure & Hospitality, Offices, Education, Healthcare and Retail.

In recent times, mrfdesign has made a number of changes, both to its workforce and its digital and product offering.

mrfdesign has added three new members of staff to the design and production team, bringing the total workforce complement to 11 employees. Now in its 15th year of business, the company continues to diversify its customer base to grow sales year-on-year, and also has plans to launch several new seating designs over the next six months.

Device responsive website extended in 2016
mrfdesign continues to expand its Device Responsive website, recently updating the home page with a downloadable PDF company overview, and will be adding dedicated furniture landing pages – starting with hospitality and moving onto seating for Agile Office Spaces and Education – to help viewers find the furniture they need for their particular interior project.

The site now has key social media icons on every page to make it easier for the interior designer or architect to archive images and product information.

Responsive design is an exciting web technology allowing a single website to be viewed seamlessly on multiple devices by automatically re-sizing pages for smartphones, tablets and desktop computers. Architects & Designers can also download 2D and 3D CAD files for space planning and interior renderings.

New Design Work for 2016
Seating for Agile Office Spaces
Soft seating designed for collaborative, work lounge and reception areas to create friendlier and more inviting working environments to improve team communication, motivation and productivity.

An agile office comprises collaboration spaces – somewhere to sit down for a quick meeting; either on sofas, benches or high stools. Furniture providing a more informal workspace environment; places to simply think while working away from the desk in a more relaxed setting.

Privacy Seating and Acoustic Rooms
mrfdesign’s soft seating ranges offer a wide selection of armchairs, sofas and modular seating for office reception spaces, breakout areas and larger office atriums; satisfying the current trend for relaxing spaces within the workplace.

There is a current trend for multipurpose seating designed for impromptu ‘touchdown’ areas, informal spaces for meeting, relaxing, socializing and eating while at work with high back sofas to create privacy for the user within the open plan office.

All of these requirements are met by the s380 julio and s410 wingback sofa designs.

mrfdesign can undertake projects ranging from small reception or waiting rooms to complete open plan offices; including bespoke upholstery for new or existing interiors. It provides a range of furniture for meeting or rest areas with additional high back sofas to create privacy for the user within today’s office spaces.

Product mix
The company’s designs utilise a wide range of materials from upholstery to formed plywood, timber frames, tubular & sheet steel and toughened glass. Its established supply chain has a strong tradition in furniture manufacturing and installation work.

Trading as mrfdesign, the company can provide the designer, specifier and customer with a comprehensive range of modern contract furniture.
