Namron Hospitality announces the opening of two new boutique hotels in Oaxaca, Mexico

Namron Hospitality, a collection of locally-rooted boutique hotels across Mexico, has announced the opening of two new hotels in Oaxaca marking the brand’s presence on Mexico’s southern Pacific coast. La Valise Mazunte (opened 15 February) and Casa Yatí (opened 31 January) offer two distinct serene sanctuaries of coastal luxury, both inviting guests to slow down and connect with the ocean, the sun, and surrender to the surrounding nature.

La Valise Mazunte

Nestled within Oaxaca’s Reserva El Toron, accessible via private buggies for an immersive arrival experience, La Valise Mazunte introduces a new way to experience luxury in the region. Located in the laid back surf town of Mazunte, the hotel marks the fourth addition to Namron Hospitality’s iconic La Valise collection, which currently consists of properties in Tulum, Mexico City and San Miguel de Allende. Inspired by the land and sea, this hidden retreat promises an unparalleled combination of natural beauty, striking architecture, and tranquil privacy.

Imagined by legendary architect Alberto Kalach and visionary designer Ignacio Urquiza, this intimate escape blends seamlessly into a coastal reserve surrounded by rocky cliffs and verdant forests, offering six exquisitely designed suites and the iconic Villa Pentágonos, which features an infinity pool that feels as if you’re floating above the ocean. Harmonising with nature’s rhythm, the spaces are crafted from locally sourced materials, stone from ancient quarries, and adorned with handmade furnishings. Each space overlooks the hotel’s private beach for spectacular sunsets, and features several infinity pools and dining areas with uninterrupted views of the ocean allowing guests to truly immerse in the surrounding nature. Villa Pentágonos in particular stands as an architectural masterpiece that has already captured the imagination of design enthusiasts worldwide.

At La Valise Mazunte, guests can immerse themselves in Oaxaca’s rich culture and traditions with curated local experiences, including an ancient temazcal ceremony – a traditional Mexican sweat lodge – guided by local healers, unwinding with transformative sound healing, and participating in the release of baby sea turtles into the ocean as part of the hotel’s conservation initiative. The culinary offering reflects the flavours of Oaxaca, blending fresh seasonal ingredients and authentic regional cuisine, with each dish serving as a celebration of Oaxaca’s rich culinary heritage.

Casa Yatí

A short drive from Mazunte lies Casa Yatí, a soulful oceanfront boutique hotel on Ventanilla’s untouched coastline, known as an ecotourism hub. The name ‘Yatí’, derived from the Zapotec word for ‘lagoon’, is a tribute to the Laguna Ventanilla that lies just steps away, marking the powerful intersection of land and water. This eight-room retreat designed by Padre Studio offers a soulful escape where the lines between home and hotel blur, allowing guests to experience authentic Oaxaca through art, nature, and human connection.

The eight beachfront sanctuaries comprise seven King Suites – four with private balconies and hammocks – and one Signature Suite, each providing a serene retreat with Pacific Ocean views and curated spaces crafted with sustainable materials and decorated with local art and handwoven textiles. With several alfresco spaces designed to foster interactions between guests, Casa Yatí celebrates Oaxaca’s vibrant artistic spirit, where personal and cultural enrichment come together.

Beyond the accommodations, Casa Yatí’s kitchen celebrates Oaxaca’s rich gastronomy, blending local flavors with global influences, crafted from seasonal ingredients. Whether seeking adventure or relaxation, the hotel offers nature-based experiences, including guided lagoon explorations, seasonal whale watching, and plans for a wellness palapa offering mindful guest experiences. Guests can also engage with local artisans and participate in hands-on workshops, discovering the craftsmanship behind textiles, ceramics, and indigenous arts.

Both La Valise Mazunte and Casa Yatí are part of Namron Hospitality’s continued commitment to creating environmentally-conscious destinations and experience-led travel experiences that create meaningful connections between guests and the natural world.
