The Chester Grosvenor hotel has appointed Paul”Cookson as its new director of operations. Paul had previously acted as the five-star hotel’s director of events and, before moving north in 2003, worked at The Royal Garden Hotel in Kensington.
“I’ve been at The Chester Grosvenor for almost 11 years and I have an enormous passion for this hotel and its guests,” says Paul. “I’ve orchestrated weddings for couples and then watched their children grow up over hot chocolates in La Brasserie. It is these relationships that really make the job for me.
“I’m also really looking forward to working with the fantastic team we have in place. I plan on involving and empowering my staff in key decisions and I know this will only drive the business forward.”
MD, Jonathan Slater, adds: “Paul has tremendous talent and a wealth of experience. We are delighted and flattered he has chosen to continue his career growth with us.
“He adds a new dimension to the hotel. Although he insists on the impeccable standards we are known for in the city, Paul is a friendly and down to earth man. He makes the guests in the hotel feel welcome and attended to and we are certain he will be a success in this role.”
