ICA, on behalf of Lancashire County Cricket Club, has now secured planning approval for a new Hilton Garden Inn to be situated at Emirates Old Trafford Cricket Ground, Manchester.
The stadium has undergone a programme of transformation, entailing the complete redevelopment of its facilities. Following completion of other major buildings on the site such as the Pavilion, Point and Player & Media Centre, the new 150 bedroom hotel will further cement the stadium’s reputation as an outstanding sport and events facility.
Opposite Trafford Town Hall the site forms a key part of the northern edge of LCCC’s ground. Following demolition of the Old Trafford Lodge, the new hotel will counterbalance The Point at the other side of the ground, mirroring its relationship with The Pavilion.
Featuring large terraces, balconies and extensive areas of glazing to bedrooms and hospitality areas – the hotel’s design ensures guests profit from the magnificent views over the cricket field. A glazed bridge link at third floor level also provides guests with direct access to the Pavilion and Point’s hospitality facilities.
The interior design of the hotel will be key, and ICA are working with Hilton to combine and integrate the hallmarks of the Hilton Garden Inn brand, while ensuring the design is sympathetic with the stadium’s other facilities.
The new hotel will provide the latest in design, comfort and technology for guests and be a place to meet, socialise, work and play in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.
Construction is due to commence later this year with completion scheduled for March 2017.
