Redefine|BDL Hotels supports growth with string of new appointments

Redefine|BDL Hotels has welcomed a host of new faces to its senior team, following significant growth within the group’s portfolio of hotels.

Among the new recruits tasked to help support the growth of the UK’s largest independent management company is experienced director of operations, Paul Harnedy, and divisional director, Wayne Topley.

Both candidates took up their posts at the beginning of the year, with Paul overseeing hotel performance across 32 of the group’s 70 hotels. Wayne, who joins from IHG where he managed a cluster of hotels in the North West, is now responsible for operations in nine of Redefine|BDL Hotels’ high performing properties.

Group human resources manager, Becky Hall, has also been welcomed in to the business. Becky will bolster the human resources team responsible for talent management, recruitment and learning and development across all 70 Redefine|BDL Hotel managed properties.

The former area director of HR and development at IHG brings with her a wealth of experience and will lead a team of seven area human resources managers.

Redefine|BDL Hotels’ senior recruitment drive comes just months after a landmark deal which saw the group become Europe’s largest manager of IHG franchised properties. The agreement added 22 hotels, 2,300 staff and almost 6,000 rooms to the business’ managed portfolio, cementing its position as the UK’s largest independent hotel management company.

Redefine | BDL Hotels hopes these latest appointments will further drive its recent success and growth.

Susan Bland, director of HR at Redefine|BDL Hotels, said: “I’d like to extend a very warm welcome to the newest members of our senior team who take up strategic positions at an exciting time for the company.

“We have ambitious goals for the year ahead and, by attracting and retaining the best talent in the industry, we will be able to make that vision a reality. I’m delighted to see Paul, Wayne and Becky join our ranks to help make this happen.”
