The highly-anticipated W Amsterdam will open its doors this September.
The arrival of this contemporary design-led lifestyle brand is set to re-energize the Dutch capital with its innovative design, signature services and diverse beverage and food offerings.
W’s reinterpretation of the traditional lobby, W Lounge, is the first stop for all arriving guests at the hotel. Located on the sixth floor of the Exchange building, W Lounge will be at the heart of the hotel with unparalleled 360-degree views over the city.
Bold gold lines printed on the windows of the W Lounge and over 5km of copper pipes pay tribute to the telephone wires and electricity lines that exchanged information on a daily basis when the building was home to the Royal Dutch Post Building. Working to connect visitors to the history and culture as well as the new vibrant social scene in Amsterdam, W Lounge will feature a distinctive set of stairs that flow into the bar and echo the iconic steps of Dam Square on the streets below.
Alongside W Lounge, the Exchange building is home to MR PORTER which will offer a cutting edge, rooftop-dining experience. W Amsterdam also hosts THE DUCHESS, which opened on June 25. Residing in the historic former KAS Bank building, the restaurant retains a sense of heritage and charm with its high ceilings and original fixtures, creating a luxurious yet contemporary setting.
