JUNG: must-have switches for every interior

In the past, switches were purely functional, but these days they come in ever-sleeker designs to blend perfectly into stylish interiors. JUNG – an expert in home automation, control systems, and switch components – elevates the humble switch to a whole new level. Its range of colours, materials, and designs turn switches into true eye-catchers in minimalistic and exuberant interiors alike. From 63 different Le Corbusier® colours to Plug & Light, JUNG provides you with the ultimate finishing touch. Discover it for yourself in the showroom in the heart of London.

How it all began

When founder Albrecht Jung came up with the pull switch in 1912, he would never have dared to dream that 100 years on, his company would be a global player in home automation, control systems, and switch components. For three generations, the company has constantly strived to progress in terms of quality, technology, and design.

A big milestone for JUNG was in the 1960s, which saw the birth of the timeless LS 990 switch. Its design remains a classic amongst flat switches to this day, and is now also available in all 63 original Le Corbusier® colours.

Today, JUNG offers a wide range of products in more than 67 countries, including switches, dimmers, cordless technology, multimedia controls and lighting, and temperature controllers for homes, businesses, and hotels.

Two favourites in the spotlight

1. JUNG in Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier architectural colours

Each year, trendspotters predict the colour of the coming year – a hue to either love or hate. JUNG takes a different tack by embracing Les Couleurs® Le Corbusier. This means the classic LS 990 switch range is now not only available in black and white, but also in 63 other architectural colours-plenty of choice, in other words. The colour palette was designed by one of the most renowned architects of the 20th century, Charles-Édouard Jeanneret, better known as Le Corbusier.

Le Corbusier

Le Corbusier wanted to achieve colour harmony, to celebrate the effect colours have on people and space. His palettes consist of carefully curated solid colours that are then repeated as graduated tints. The colours harmoniously work together and are particularly easy to combine, which is why they remain a source of inspiration for spatial and building design to this day.

A timeless model

Thanks to its high-quality materials and minimalist design, the timeless LS 990 collection has remained in vogue for over 50 years. The stripped-down shape of the switch seamlessly fits into any surroundings. Purist elegance in duroplastic or real metal characterises the series. LS 990 includes switches, 4-gang push button sensors, rotary dimmers and sockets.

Hand-painted in a rich variety of colours

JUNG’s switch range is made in the company’s factory in Germany. To achieve the Architectural Polychromy’s unrivalled depth of colour, any residue and dust particles are carefully removed, after which the switches and sockets are painted by hand. Once the base coat has dried, a second coat is applied to give a velvety, matt finish.

2. Plug & Light

Thanks to Plug & Light by JUNG, lights no longer need to be installed in a fixed position. With its LED spotlight and LED wall-mounted spotlight, JUNG is playing with the trend for multi-functional space usage. The modern LED system comprises a clever light socket which also supplies the power, and to which a range of magnetic light attachments can be affixed. No drilling necessary, no spring clips to release, and no cumbersome assembly work.

Welcome to the JUNG showroom London

In the heart of London’s creative quarter Clerkenwell, JUNG reopened its showroom to visitors: an innovative experience for an international architectural scene. The exhibition space showcases multifunctional design living on two levels, focusing on comfort, aesthetic design and modern technology. The London JUNG experience combines modular lighting design with intelligent KNX control and versatile switch ranges. In the showroom, the complete JUNG range for modern hotel installations can be experienced and tested.
