Beyond the Surface: LAUFEN at HIX 2025

At HIX 2025, LAUFEN reinforces its reputation as a pioneer in premium hospitality bathroom design with a curated showcase of innovations that blend aesthetics, sustainability, and technical excellence.

Aligned with the show’s theme of Culture Clash, LAUFEN demonstrates that luxury design can coexist with environmental responsibility. Central to this narrative is the brand’s commitment to sustainable production, exemplified by its groundbreaking CO₂-neutral ceramic firing process at the E-Kiln in Gmunden, Austria—the first of its kind globally. This innovation sets the stage for VOLTA, a visionary washbasin designed by Yves Behar. Crafted from LAUFEN’s revolutionary Saphirkeramik, VOLTA reimagines the interaction between water and form, inspired by the natural movement of water and Behar’s lifelong connection to aquatic environments. His design philosophy – “design for a changing world” captures the essence of LAUFEN’s mission to merge sustainability with artistry.

Visitors to HIX will also experience LAUFEN’s latest material developments, including the refinement of glazed steel washbasins. These pieces combine durability with elegance, offering a seamless, pore-free surface that resists scratches, moisture, and chemicals—ideal for high-traffic hospitality spaces. Glazed steel’s precision and versatility enable fluid lines and perfect proportions, available in finishes that harmonize with the luxurious wood veneers and stone surfaces of the ARUN collection. This synergy creates bathroom environments that are both functional and visually striking.

Beyond aesthetics, LAUFEN’s innovations address the practical demands of hospitality design: hygiene, ease of maintenance, and longevity. Each product reflects a fusion of traditional craftsmanship and advanced technology, ensuring enduring brilliance even under intensive use.

By presenting VOLTA alongside its expanded material palette, LAUFEN offers hoteliers and designers a toolkit for shaping future-focused spaces—where sustainability, design integrity, and guest experience converge. At HIX 2025, LAUFEN goes beyond the surface, reaffirming its role as a thought leader in creating bathrooms that inspire, perform, and respect the planet.
