Camira unveils its first sustainable sheers collection made from recycled polyester

International textile designer and manufacturer, Camira will introduce its inaugural wide-width sheers collection, Lumis on 16th February 2025. Crafted from recycled polyester, Lumis is designed to shape interiors with light and transparency, representing a new milestone in Camira’s sustainable textile journey.

Featuring three sheer textiles, Astro, Nova, and Halo, the Lumis Collection is acoustically transparent, lightweight and ethereal. Designed to filter daylight and subtly zone interiors, Lumis supports wellbeing and productivity in workplace and hospitality environments.

Lynn Kingdon, Creative Director at Camira, said: “Launching our first-ever sheers collection at the start of 2026 is an exciting and natural evolution for Camira. We are focused on making specification as intuitive as possible for architects and designers who value our sustainable textile ranges and are seeking a sheer collection that integrates seamlessly alongside them. Lumis brings light, transparency and a sense of calm to interior spaces, reflecting our continued commitment to innovation, sustainability and design excellence.”

Each textile is presented in nine curated colourways and offers distinct textures and transparencies; from Astro’s refined, linen-like elegance to Halo’s silky luminosity and Nova’s soft bouclé warmth.

Certified to Indoor Advantage Gold and Oeko-Tex® Standard 100, the collection is part of Camira’s broader environmental textile portfolio, built from recycled materials and engineered for long-term performance.

For more than three decades, Camira has led sustainable textile innovation, developing fabrics from recycled polyester, natural wool, and plant-based fibres, as well as pioneering circular solutions that transform textile waste into high-performance, design-led materials.
