HIMACS shapes the 4-star experience at Parkest Hôtel & Spa in Genas

The Arteloge group’s new Parkest Hôtel & Spa near Lyon presents a contemporary vision of hospitality centred around wellbeing and versatility. Designed by Atelier 4+ EC, with Laurine Darne Intérieurs in collaboration with Kathleen Giorgi, the project combines generous architecture with elegant and durable materials.

Among them, HIMACS plays a central role. The solid surface material was selected both for its performance in demanding hospitality environments and its bespoke ability to bring designs to life with flowing lines and meticulously finished details.

The new 4-star hotel serves a diverse clientele from business and leisure travellers to sports enthusiasts and families, all welcomed by clear, fluid spaces that facilitate movement and wayfinding. The interiors are havens of tranquillity within a dynamic business district – and material choice was integral to this identity.

HIMACS: a material designed for hospitality

“We chose HIMACS for its durability and quality, which are essential in hospitality spaces subject to intensive use and cleaning. The wide variety of colours available also reinforced our choice from the beginning,” says Laurine Darne, responsible for the interior decoration.

HIMACS can be found in numerous applications throughout the hotel, such as worktops on reception desks, in spa treatment rooms, and on the bar, which also features cantilevered downturns and fascias to the side clad in the material.

The buffet servery forms the centrepiece of the restaurant and is an impressive oval structure designed for easy circulation. The countertop in HIMACS Aurora Bisque has refrigerated areas integrated to the surface, and here the edges have been seamlessly fabricated to curve upwards, thus enabling condensation to be managed discreetly. This task is also performed by grooves milled into the surface around the outer edges of the ergonomically curved structure.

Such bespoke installations throughout the hotel demonstrate the ability of HIMACS to meet complex projects where design, functionality and technical precision must work together without compromise – while the breadth of applications reflects its outstanding versatility.

“In hospitality, materials must address two key challenges: creating a strong, lasting identity while also answering the demands of intensive daily use. Parkest Hôtel & Spa perfectly illustrates this balance. Here, HIMACS enables a consistent material language across very different spaces and functions, while offering all the design freedom required by this project,” says Félicie Koeppel, Project Manager, HIMACS France.
